As a Mexican-American in this country, we have a unique story.

It is a story of being the first generation to complete the cycle our ancestors started when they first set sights for the American Dream. The first to go to college. The first to own a house. The first to break the cycle in many family curses.

Yet, it’s a generation that is removed from its roots. A generation that has had difficulty finding where it fits in; finding its voice and identity. A struggle of never feeling “Mexican enough” because we don’t speak the Spanish language, and still constantly reminded that we don’t belong in America.

Through ink to paper, Ulloa finds his voice for not only himself, but for many alike in this America.

With the first book of his Waves of Luna novel series set to release soon, Ulloa’s work incorporates themes of faith, family, survival, underdog triumph, death/grief, and mental health. He’s particularly interested in complex, poetic, and philosophical Dramas that blend the lines of fiction and the current social climate. He is a graduate of Full Sail’s Associate of Creative Writing program (May 2025), and currently working on his Bachelor of Communications from Full Sail University.
